Victorian Tops

We currently are not stocking any Victorian top cages for pet birds for safety reasons. 

 

We have heard numerous reports of birds getting injured due to the poor design of this type of cage top.

 

Simply stated, the cage tops do not "open wide enough " to be safely stable and stationary when open. The only thing that keeps the top open is the perch which is wedged from side to side on the cage top. If  your birds move or release this perch (which can easily happen with a medium to extra large bird), the top can simply slam down and injure your bird.

 

This type of cage top may be pretty- but if it does slam shut, the results can be very ugly.

 

We are working on a "redesign" which will be safer- but such design changes can take a good deal of time (1 to 2 years) before they appear in the marketplace.
